Introduction Music alters or intensifies the moods of people, furnishes much their slang, dominates their conversations and provides the ambiance of their social gathering. Music can color our transactions with the world our thinking and behavior are colored by music, which seems to have direct and unconsciousness access to the brain. Furthermore, music does not necessarily create emotions but provides a trigger for the release of emotions already present. As states by Richard Wagner (Bañas, 1975), Music unites mankind by an ideal bond. Music influences the taste and morals of a nations no less powerfully than drama. Consequently Homer (Bañas, 1975), said that “music was taught to Achilles in order to moderate his passions. A world without music would be hard to imagine. Both language and music are characteristics of the human species. They are aspects of our need to communicate. And as the sayings go, when music “speaks” our emotions “listen”. Everyone of us has interest in music in a certain level, through music our group unites and with this interest we know that we will be able to understand and learn how our interest affects our personality.
Objectives:
The main purpose for this study is to further understand why music affects one’s personality and socio-emotional aspects. Specifically it answers the following questions: 1. How can music affect one’s personality and socio-emotional aspects? 2. Why do we, listeners, easily get carried away with a particular music played to us?

Music affects our moods, it is the great mood enhancer. We may not understand the words, but instead recognize the expression of its musical beauty and power to de-stress. Music has been called 'The International Language' - a very simple thought with much meaning behind it. Even if you can't speak the language of a country, you can move, sway, dance and most of all, enjoy the music of the country. We may not understand the words of a musical selection
