My Place of Comfort Essay Example

My Place of Comfort There is nothing that is more comforting to me than a cozy bed with crisp, clean sheets. My bed has always been my place for rest and relaxation. The only thing that could come close to comparison would be a shower. Both my bed and a shower seem to help me wash my problems away. On my days off, I love to stay in bed as late as I possibly can; I can also, sit in the shower until my fingers and toes are pruned, leaving me without any hot water. The shower is there to help me start a refreshing day, and my bed is my haven at the end of the day. Lying in bed I feel the same as being in the shower; while in both I feel peace and serenity. The aroma from the fruity body wash and shampoos, fill the steamy shower which reminds me of the fragrant fabric softener that overwhelms my nose, when I lie my head down into the pillows of my bed. The light soapy suds that slowly run down my skin from my soft loofah scrub can easily send my mind back to bed; where the pillow top mattress allows me to feel like I am floating on a cloud or adrift on a bubble taken by the breeze. My bed, for me is a place where I can vent my worries and troubles away. No one is there to hear my whining or spread my deepest secret thoughts. The same as in the shower; I can sing and dance my emotions out, without anyone to judge me. Being in my bed gives me a relaxing feeling, my bed allows me to settle down after a long, chaotic day. I can also experience that same feeling of relaxation, when in the shower. To relieve stress I stand under the water from the shower head, which pulsates on my tense shoulders, neck and back. While in my bed, I am tucked tightly underneath the layers of covers that keep me snuggled in; where in the shower I am not covered by anything, but I can feel the warmth surrounding my body. In my bed my head wonders and dreams freely, about anything and everything. My mind is no longer

I sit in bed all day hoping that a wave of motivation will circum me and I’ll finally get up and enter the world of normal, working human beings. I’ve basically memorised everything in my room from the blue bar stools next to my bed, the tinted orange lamps hanging from the ceiling and even the scent of my lavender candle that I light every night religiously. Night after night I drift off into a deep unconscious dream, where for once it’s peaceful and I can exist without the pressures of everyday things, going to sleep is my favourite time of day and waking up is my most dreaded.…

By definition brilliance is someone who is incredibly talented or clever. Chance Gardner is an extremely gifted character who I consider to be brilliant. Kosinski demonstrated a superficial world and how a man with no knowledge other then the television can fool people and make his way up in society. In the novel Being There, by Jerzy Kosinski the character of Chance Gardner makes the distinction between human behavior and comes from a past that one he encounters would ever know.…

In my creative piece, I used Lassel’s technique of depicting photographic moments to convey what home means to me. Just the topic of the southern lifestyles comes as a sensitive yet powerful subject for me. In my essay I decided to thoroughly develop strong mental pictures of the place I was raised and explain what it is that makes that friendly community of Lake Travis, Texas so special to me. Pinpointing the things that jog my memory of what it’s like to be from the welcoming town of LT in Austin, Texas. My main goal of the creative piece I wrote was to make everyone from different origins and hometowns, think about where they’re from and discern what having that place to call home means to them as I so passionately specify what it means to me.…

Do you ever wonder why certain places mean so much to certain people? When I think of my bedroom, I realize why some people are so crazy about locking their doors and not letting anyone inside it and touch their stuff. My bedroom is the place where I can sit back and relax. It is the only place where I can get away from the world, away from the stressing college student life; a place away from work and rude customers, that even though no matter how nice you are to them, there’s always someone that finds the way to bring your mood down. A place when I can have my own privacy and be as comfortable as I want. Also, my room is where I keep my personal belongings and the things that are important to me and do not want anyone else to touch.…

Suva, Fiji Islands was my birthplace, I’ve lived there half my life. Being a dot on a globe, two separate islands on a map, and a small population, Fiji is surrounded with grains of sand and salty water. The beach was my playground. Precious memories were left behind when I had to move to a different country with my family, but the beach was a place never to be forgotten. The beach is my home where I explored, learned, and relaxed; it swept up my childhood to the shores as each tide pushes up.…
