Sheryl Sandberg, the chief operating officer of Facebook, was named as one of the world's 100 most influential people by TIME magazine in 2012 (Muhtar, 2012). Born in the United States, she holds both a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in business administration with great honor from the Harvard Business School. During her early career, she worked in Mckinsey & Company, the United States Treasury Department under President Bill Clinton and Google Inc., respectively. In March 2008, Sheryl Sandberg was appointed COO of Facebook, where she gained the highest reputation(Delaney,2010).
Sheryl Sandberg is an astonishing rising star in current business circle, and she is powerful and aggressive (Nathan, 2013). In spite of achieving accomplishments in career, she is also committed to the feminist movements, keeping women in the workforce, which is quite challenged because opportunities to women are not as many as those to men in contemporary workplace. However, Sheryl Sandberg never gives up any chances of promoting movements. Most of speeches she has made recently, including her first best-seller book "Lean In", are aiming to inspire women to be more ambitious, so that "a truly equal world, where women ran half of countries and companies and men ran half of our homes" (Knopf, 2013, p.7) would be come true.
In my opinion, Sheryl Sandberg is a successful business woman. The reasons depend on the following three points. First of all, her earlier triumph in business is attributed to her great distinction of high education and a variety of work experience in large companies where she can maintain her social network. Working under the President Bill Clinton is, for example, a critical and helpful step in her career life. Besides, her charismatic personal traits is another important factor. She is an individual who is articulate and has the ability to influence people around her. I watched her TED speech " Why we
