UNDERSTANDINGTHE RESEARCH PROCESS RESOURCES Research on the social and behavioral processes involves the study of the animal or human functioning at different levels such as the individual, institution, small group, organization, population or the community. At an individual’s level, the research may involve the study of the individual’s behavior such as memory and language.at the higher levels of organization, the research may focus on the various social variables such as the economics of the group. The research on the social and behavioral process involves the study of interactions between the two levels of aggression. This research also involves the study of the environmental factors. Research is defined in two main branches in the social and behavioral science that is the core areas of research and the adjunct areas of research. The core areas of research are divided further into two sub sections that is, the applied research and the fundamental or basic research. The adjunct areas of research include the various types of neurological research and other pharmacological interventions. Scientific research is different from the other types of research as it involves various methods. The methodologies used in this type of research include: surveys, interviews, questionnaires, randomized clinical trials, physiological manipulations, direct observation, economic analyses, evaluation and ethnography among other methodologies used. The scientific type of research relies on application of the different scientific methods while the other types of research do not necessarily rely on the scientific methods. The scientific type of research involves the formulation if theories that guide the research while the other forms of research do not really require theories.
