The Obando Fertility Rites is a Filipino dance ritual. Wherein every year during the month of May there will be musical instruments made out ofbamboo materials, the men, women and children of Obando, Bulacanwear traditional dance costumes and then dance on the streets and form a religious processionfollowed by the images of their patron saints “San PascualBaylon”, Santa ClaraandOur Lady of Salambao , Most participants of the fertility dance ask the patron saints for a son, a daughter, a husband, a wife or good fortune.

This is a three-day fiesta honoring the town’s patron saints. Each day is dedicated to a particular patron saint. St. Clare is the oldest patron saint of Obando, Bulacan. She has been considered the patron saint of good weather because her Spanish name meant the brightening of the skies after a season of storms, which later became the basis why the residents of Obando, Bulacan, believed in offering eggs at the base of the altar of St. Clare and then pray for good weather.Like St. Clare, St. Paschalwas introduced to Obando, Bulacan, he also became the patron saint of fertility, wealth and abundance. St. Paschal's surname, Baylon, was taken to mean "one who likes dancing", ultimately derived from theSpanish word bailar, the verb form of "dance".On June 19, 1763, the image of Our Lady of Salambao was also introduced to Obando, Bulacan andwas place to the high altar of the Obando church and eventually became the patron saint of fishermen and of good harvest.

The celebration begins with a concelebrated mass at the Obando Church around 7:00 am. The mass usually ends after an hour, then followed by the procession of the three saints and then the dancing of the devotees to thebeat of bamboo instruments with the tune of Santa Clara Pinung-Pino. This continues for the duration of the festival, with the image of the particular Patron Saint of the day leading the procession. After the procession, participants will

A new ethical discussion is emerging in the oncology world due to overwhelming advances in fertility preservation in all age groups. The journal article “The Ethics of Fertility Preservation for Paediatric Cancer Patients: From Offer to Rebuttable Presumption” addresses the pressing need to discuss the ethics of failing to preserve fertility as this current practice may no longer be considered ethically appropriate for populations for whom established techniques are available. The current standard practice involves merely offering the option of fertility preservation procedures to children and young adults with cancer. Previous ethical discussions of fertility preservation have focused on the question of whether it is appropriate to perform fertility preservation procedures for a particular patient. The question at the heart of this article suggests the new discussion needs to address the question, “is failing to proceed with fertility preservation ethically justifiable?’” (McDougall 2015). The article gives some…

The Virgin Caridad del Cobre or the Lady of Charity is considered the patron saint of Cuba. It does not matter if the person is Catholic, Santero, or other religion if you go to any house in Cuba you will see an image or a statue of the Virgin in it. It has being told that an image of the virgin was found floating in Cuban waters after a great tempest by three workers in search of salt. There were two aborigine brothers and a black slave (today they called them the three Johns). To their amazement, they saw a statue of the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus floating in the water. The story goes that even after the big storm and the statue was floating in the water on a small plank, the statue’s vestments were dry. On the plank it read, “I am the Virgin of Charity”. It started 7:00 in the morning, with a greetings, an entrance song then so on and so forth. First in the march are the Altar Boys or Sacristans, Commentator, Lecturer, Readers, Lay minister’s and the Priest. The priest was wearing a white robe with a purple sash. The colors of the clothing of the priest’s are very symbolic in the Catholic religion, and white stands for purity and peace. The other altar boys were carrying candles while walking in a Christmas song as an entrance hymn, signifying the advent season. Advent prepares for the birth of Jesus.
