Abstract: During the lab a better agent for absorbing Procion Red Dye was trying to be found. Using the different dilutions of a stock solution and a spectrophotometer an Absorbance vs. Concentration graph was created and using the trendline from that graph it was determined which agent‚ zeolite‚ magnetic zeolite‚ or charcoal were better at absorbing the dye. From the results collected it was found that charcoal was the best at absorbing the dye‚ when moles of dye per gram of agent used were calculated

purpose of this experiment is to use Volumetric Analysis to determine the concentration of acetic acid in white vinegar. 2.0 Theory The concentration is a measurement of relative amounts of solute and solvent. There are many diverse ways of expressing concentration but the most accepted and widely used is molar concentration and regularly referred to as molarity which is defined in mole‚ the amount of solute dissolved in one litre of solution. [pic] In this experiment there are solutions

It has a chemical formula of C6H12O6 and is a monosaccharide reducing sugar (Kolej Mara Banting – Students’ Handbook for Biology HL Year 1). It is the simplest form of carbohydrate. In this experiment‚ sulphuric acid‚ H2SO4 and potassium permanganate‚ KMnO4 is added into glucose with different concentration and the time taken for the purple pink colour of potassium permanganate solution to change to colourless is recorded. This is because glucose donates electrons to the permanganate ions‚ causing

ethanol-water solution and to measure the alcohol content after process in this experiment. 500 ml of solution with an alcohol content of 32% (v/v) is used for this experiment. Temperature values are recorded for every 10 ml alcohol obtained in the flask. The process is repeated in our experiment and for the first process‚ the data collection process continues until the distillate reaches to 200 ml. The concentration of alcohol is measured for first process by hydrometer. For the second process‚

Experiment 9 Thin Layer Chromatography Experiment: 9 Title: Thin Layer Chromatography Introduction: Chemical analysis is conducted on specific analytes (specific substance of interest in a mixture)‚ however it is often found that these analytes must be separated for the chemical analysis to conduct their analysis. Chromatography is a set up of laboratory a technique that is used to separate a chemical mixture. This technique is very useful as it allows us to follow the course of

Cockroaches and Hemolymph Concentration in the Body Abstract This lab was conducted to determine the concentration of hemolymph in the body of a cockroach. It was done by making serial dilutions to make a standard graph by injecting a dye into a cockroach and determining the concentration at different times with the use of a spectrophotometer to find the optical density which is measured in absorbance. Results showed that the concentration was not within the pre-experiment research range. Introduction:

The proximately of the victim‚ responsibility for the actions‚ and perceived legitimate authority figures will greatly determine how far an individual will go to fully comply.
