14 Forces Of Magnetism Analysis
Magnet status is now a big thing/idea in the healthcare industry. Although I work in a nursing home facility, the 14 forces of Magnetism give me an overview of how I could potentially enhance myself professionally. The forces of Magnetism sum up what healthcare facilities should do to provide optimal patient care.
Of the 14 forces of Magnetism, I think that the five forces that I could incorporate into my practice are: quality of nursing leadership, personnel policies and programs, quality of care, autonomy, image of nursing, and interdisciplinary relationship. Transformational Leadership is a leadership style that supports change and inspires team members to help their organization meet current and future demands of the health care industry (Tinkham, 2013, p. 136). Not only that, I also support other nurses who have difficulty dealing with computer technology by helping them or showing them how to use our eMAR. Thus, on-time transcription of order leads to on-time administration of medication, thereby leading to the application of the quality of care (force 6) to our residents. Another example of quality of care is providing the staff feedback or education regarding infection control. As nurse leaders, we have to be proactive in “providing an environment that positively influences patient” (Ericksen, 2013, p. 10).

I believe that autonomy and interdisciplinary relationship go hand-in-hand in such a way that nurses are able to practice autonomy and are able to contribute to the interdisciplinary team in order to provide optimal quality care to the patients. As the charge nurse for the night shift, I am responsible for the care of my residents. I believe that I have shown autonomy when I am able to made judgment on

    The nursing research question that is being asked in the large picture is “Do Magnet principles affect nursing turnover and satisfaction?” In looking at this question by the method of a systematic review, the following article was found, “Factors influencing job satisfaction of front line nurse managers: a systematic review” (Cummings& Lee, 2008).
