Economic integration, international cooperation, and cross-cultural exchange characterize today’s global world. And it promotes the development of multinationalism.
The United Kingdom is one of the most ethnically diverse countries in Europe, with London probably being the most cosmopolitan capital in the EU. This is mainly due to the large numbers of immigrants from commonwealth countries This is one major factor that encouraged multiculturalism in the country, successive governments have taken many steps to increase integration by ethnic minority groups with mainstream society.
The example of multinational countries is USA. The metaphor often used to describe United States is the "melting pot”, salad boil, pizza, vegetable soup. There is some truth to this idea. The United States is certainly a culturally diverse society.
The reason of this phenomenon is a wave of immigration in 1800s. Northern and western Europe provided the majority of the immigrants. Among these new arrivals were Italians, Poles, Russians, Rumanians, and Greeks. When they settled in the New World, many immigrants tried to preserve the traditions, religion, and language of their particular culture.
There are a lot of serious problems connected with multinationalism such as racism, fascism, genocide. People in the whole world were suffered because of this problems.
The problem of multionalism can affect many areas. The problem for managers is the wide range of staff behaviours, attitudes, and values, which may affect organisational processes.
The primary goal for every multinational country is racial, religious and cultural integration without any problem. political correctness can become the first step for everybody to prevent consequences of multinationalism.
