A third grader is more accustomed to shorter sentences and less advanced vocabulary. I reduced the amount of complex sentences in the paper I wrote for the third grade audience. I also used less intelligent vocabulary so that they would better understand what the paper was conveying. I was not sure how to explain the psychological explanations because it is so complex, but I still managed to condense the word choices. “It has been argued for many years if dogs can understand what people are saying. Many studies have been done to test this.” This is one example of how I changed the word choice to make the third grade audience understand easier. I used a more intelligent word for argue and also changed the length of the sentence. Teenagers understand complex sentences and vocabulary which is the reason I altered these things for the specific
