Sound Engineering Technicians After looking into jobs in the field of audio and visual technology, I have found the job that I would like to look more into. Sound engineering is what makes all the songs we listen to everyday sound as clear and crisp. People in this career have to run sound boards, match lyrics to tracks, and enhance the sound so it sounds best.2 Employees also have to,” confer with producers, performers, and others to determine and achieve the desired sound for a production, such as a musical recording or a film.”2 Many colleges offer degrees in this field, but few are as known as SAE Institute of Technology, Nashville and Columbia College, Chicago.2. The first school was opened 1977 in Sydney, (Australia). They offer courses in Audio engineering, 3D Animation, Multimedia, Game Design, Digital Filmmaking, and Music Production.3 It is the largest college worldwide that offers all of these programs, and currently has campuses and facilities in 56 cities in 23 countries.3The SAE Institute of Technology has a tuition rate of around 22,000 with all of the materials that are needed.2 SAE also helps students by providing students assistance in applying for Sallie Mae educational loans through the SLM Financial Corporation (a Sallie Mae Company), for those who qualify While starting salaries are around 46,000 dollars a year.1 If you are looking to find jobs in the field of sound technology, you are most likely to find jobs where the music industry is thriving right now. States like California and New York have the most job availability because they have more studios to work at. While places like Texas and Michigan have significantly fewer studios to fill. I think I would really like this job. I would be able to work with something I really enjoy, music. Like many things in the creative arts, the best engineers are in it because it 's their liking and has been for a very long time. It allows you to create and influence creativity at a level that combines some of the most recent emerging technology, work with incredibly good musicians, composers and producers. You may even be able to take a tour around the United States and if you do good there maybe even travel the world. There are some bad things about this field though. Pursuing your passion is never a guaranteed path to getting rich. It 's a group in every aspect of the music field. Groups of talented people struggle with two or three day jobs while untalented want to be “Sound Technicians” nail the really juicy money gigs because of who they know rather than what they are able to do.
