Mayo’s Hawthrone Studies reveals that productivity in employees depends upon their satisfaction with their working environment. The studies shows environmental factors like social, lightings, group dynamics, leaders, rewards and so on has impact on productivity. The results shows that most responsiveness from workers towards productivity is social factor, such as the co-worker they worked with in a team and the amount of interest their manager had in their work (Boundless, 2016). Employees are human that has feelings and emotions too, being restricted to many things including chatting, having personal items on their desk or even looking out of the windows would not just take away their distractions but also their motivation and initiative to work and perform their task. Mr Edens should be less controlling by allowing his employees to communicate with each other, and even work in groups. Although Mr Edens wants to monitor his employees, but he should give them more personal space and freedom to work, as he is monitoring working adults, not primary school children who couldn’t behave themselves. Besides that, Mr Edens should also delegate some obligations to his employees like daily routine and minor decisions in the company.
