Abraham Lincoln was a stronger President because he kept America alive through many challenges. Lincoln was in term during the Civil War, a time of disunity and pain for Americans. He used "leadership" skills, "his commitment to values, and his strong moral fiber" to lead the country through the war, something most Presidents could not have done when faced with that predicament (Stone). After seeing the number of deaths from the war, America became "divided both in purpose and politics," however Lincoln quickly unified the country with his skills, and America was back again (Stone)! When Washington was faced with a war, he chose to lead from the battlefield and make quick and uneducated decisions, suggesting he lacked Lincoln's leadership skills (Weston). …show more content…
This style consisted of him appointing "talented national figures from opposing political parties to be part of his cabinet" (Stone). This allowed him to hear different opinions on every decision that he made so that he could be ensured of it's success. In contrast, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson made all their decisions on their own and therefore lacked the opinion of the
