How would you define academic readiness?
Academic readiness is being ready and able to succeed in academic studies. It is being able to form questions, answers, and study as well as comprehending what is being said. It is also being ready to learn and take in new information in class and during academic studies. Not only being able to take in new information but also being able to use past knowledge in addition to new. Being ready to learn, adapt, and use past information.
What concerns, if any, do you have with academic writing and reading?
My first mother language is not English and I continually find myself struggling with my grammar and comprehending the content that is provided/given to me. It is very hard and difficult for me to express what is going through my mind when I am writing. I have a tendency to read through what is given to me multiple times to be able to fully understand what message is trying to be portrayed to me.
What two university resources will you use to strengthen your writing and reading skills (refer to your Student Life Worksheet)?
One university resource that I will be using to strengthen my writing and reading skills is the “Resources for Speakers of Other Languages”. I will use this because my primary language is not English and I have to learn to use correct verbs, adjectives, and other forms of English. My other university resource that I will be using is “Grammar Tutorial”. I will use this because I struggle with my grammar, and it will help me to learn how to use proper grammar and correct word ordering.

I am a visual learner. I learn
