BUSINESS COMMUNICATION ASSIGNMENT ACHIEVING SUCCESS THROUGH EFFECTIVE BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
Business communication is communication that promotes a product, service, marketing, or organization; relays information within a business; or functions as an official statement from a company. Business communication encompasses such topics as marketing, brand management, customer relations, consumer behavior, advertising, public relations, corporate communication, etc. Methods of business communication includes video conferencing, e-mail, reports, presentations, telephoned meetings etc. BARRIERS TO EFFECTIVE BUSINESS COMMUNICATION : include differences in perception and language, differences in age or education, poor listening, information overload and beliefs and values, emotional interference, gender, economic situation, type of job, physical distraction. They are ways of overcoming communication barriers which are;
OVERCOMING COMMUNICATION BARRIERS : Adopt an audience-centered approach, Foster open-communication climate, Commit to ethical communication, Create efficient messages . MASTERING TEAM AND INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION
A team is a unit of two or more people who share mission and responsibility for working to achieve a common goal.
ADVANTAGES OF TEAMS: include information and knowledge, diversity of viewpoints, acceptance of solutions, levels of performance.
DISADVANTAGES OF TEAMS : include group think, cost issues, hidden agendas. COMMUNICATION IN A WORLD OF DIVERSITY Thanks to communication and transportation technologies, natural boundaries and national borders are no longer the impassable
