1.1 Explain the features of effective team performance
A team is a group of individuals who work together to achieve a common goal.
My employer has chosen to use direct payments to employ a team of 12 PAs . My employer is at the centre of their package and is supported to live independently in the community. Without a good team around them this would not be possible. Each PA provides a valuable one to one service to my employer but are also a valued part of our team . Each member has different personality, values, experiences, skills. They each have a different way of doing their job. They all have a good relationship with my employer. Sometimes they work alone and may not see other members of the team. Sometimes they might work together if my employer is doing a joint activity. PAS might only see each other during handover or at training or staff meetings. But it is very rare that they will come together as a group so whilst respecting the individual service they provide it is essential that all PAS are awareof the goals that we all share as a package. In my employers case the goals we try to achieve are
Providing the highest quality of life for our employer empowering them to make their own choices and ensuring their inclusion in the community
Ensuring they receive the care and support they need in a setting of their choice avoiding the need for hospitilastion or removal from their home
Ensuring my employers care and support is personalised and positive
Ensuring they have a sense of wellbeing and feel safe and secure.

Effective team performance is essential to provide my employer with the highest level of care and support.
As well as PAs there are other people involved in my
