Romeo and Juliet is a very well distinguished play written by William
Shakespeare in the 16th century. The play is based on to lovers who both die tragically due to a love plan that turns disastrous. Romeo and Juliet are set in Verona, where they live in a small town where two rival families live in hatred. The engagement of the two families brings martyrdom. The Montague’s and the Caplets. Romeo and Juliet’s only love from being from the one they hate, Juliet from the caplets and Romeo the Montague’s family. A secret marriage is the definition of danger and severe consequences. The audience will be eager to see Romeos reaction to tybolt and him fighting, as the tension of Romeo being married to Juliet is still within the audience. The setting is also reasoned as the audience may remember from a previous scene the threat from the prince is still remaining’ If you disturb our streets again, your lives shall pay for the forfeit of the peace’ so the set is in a public place creating more atmosphere.
The scene begins with Benvolio and Mercutio the two friends larking and joking together. Benvolio is the peace maker and Mercutio being the opposite.
‘The day is hot” (capulats are hot blooded and restless because of the heat.)’The capulets are abroad” (the capulats are about.)And if we met, we shall not scrape a brawl” Because Romeo was seen at the party they shall want A fight. This line introduces the capulates to the scene the audience will stimulate from those words the capultaes will not be late on arrival. Benvolio try’s to hold the peace.
