Studying Health and Social Care during my years at sixth form has made me realise that nursing is much more than a profession, it is a lifelong commitment, which includes learning as you develop as a nurse; not only professionally but as a individual. Nursing requires such qualities as being dedicated, respective, reassuring, commitment to the quality of care, compassion, possessing excellent communication skills, the ability to work with others for the benefit of patients and be able play and communicate with a child and being confident and reassuring when handling the distress of parents. While studying Development through the life stages which required me to look at different life stage from conception to the final stage of life I assessed the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social developments that takes place, I reached different psychologists such as John Piaget. This increased my interest in physical and social health problems individuals can experience and how they are able to be supported. While studying this unit I was required to complete an assignment on looking at factors that affects an individuals, I focused on children as studying various genetic and biological disease and other such as social class affects
