Advantages And Disadvantages Of Hackney
In this report my locality project will be centred on the borough of hackney and mainly centred around crime and the effects it may have on health. Crime is relevant to the topic because crime has a direct effect on health. If a physical crime has been committed on somebody the impact to the victim could affect their health whether the damage is small or massive. Crime is relevant to hackney because it has a high rate of it. Hackney is rated six on Crime in Boroughs of greater London (Hackney council, 2011). Crime would also affect the way the community acts towards each other. If there is a high rate of crime people will be less inclined to go out, may treat other members of the community different and would generally act differently because …show more content…
They usually break down all information into certain areas which make it easy to access and understand. They are reliable due to the research and preparation. They also contain references so it is easy to find out more about certain information you want. They also access the information from all angles giving a different point of view. Disadvantages of academic resources are the information could be outdated, certain areas maybe too brief, certain words may be too complicated or hard to understand.
The advantages of government websites/reports are that it is information centred on a particular borough can be easily isolated, it is easily accessible, and it is fairly reliable as it is government information, contains current and past information so possible to compare rates and declines in certain areas. Disadvantages are they may alter certain information in a political move to improve public relations. The advantage of personal observations are I would see things directly rather than it reported to me, I can form my own opinions from observation rather than basing them on what somebody else has written. I also determined that if there is no work or the individual is not earning enough money crime may increase and individuals would commit crimes in order to fund their living. The government should look at ways of helping individuals with personal problems in order to find out the root of their issues, because if crime continues at a high rate it may become impossible to live in an area such as London Hackney.
