Advantages of Volunteering in the Community
M

Volunteering is very important because it helps a lot to make the country a better place, it also gives something from the person to make them feel good about themselves to no they have helped and done it in their own free time. Something named the compact is to do with volunteering it is where the government have an agreement with the voluntary and community sector which outlines a way of working that improves the relationship for mutual advantage, in other words helping each other as best as they can. The Compact offers improved funding processes, clear consultation standards, and an overall improvement in working relationships. So organisations shouldn’t wait until things go wrong before using it, as its always there to help as best as possible.
Volunteering is part of the big society launched in 2010 by the conservative manifesto trying to make England a better place, its ran by David Cameron, he's said he is making a new attempt to explain his own vision of how Britain should be. Even though some people are totally against this David says he will still carry on to try and make Britain a better place, the big society is about charities and more active roles in the public services as well as other things to, he wants to do this not simply to get more volunteers but to give people something to do if they want to do it they have the choice. The more voluntary work people are doing without getting paid is helping the recession a lot, as people aren't getting paid but we are starting new things and helping things to develop so maybe new jobs will come along in the future. By doing this we will make the society a much better and stronger place to live in, it take time but something good will hopefully come out of it in the end.

Volunteering has always been an important aspect of my life. Whether donating food or painting a house, it has allowed me to be extremely grateful and humble for my lifestyle because everybody is not as blessed as I am. Volunteering has taught me that even the smallest gift, such as a smile, can be a great gift to someone because it can show that you care and want to be involved. It has allowed me to develop soft skills, and learn more about myself and my HBCU community. One of my greatest accomplishment in life was that I volunteered 1,000 hours in high school.…

Donating, giving, and sharing are three related values that the majority of households in America all claim to practice and believe in. If this is true, then why is it so often that charities are underfunded? The problem is that many people seek happiness for themselves over the happiness of others. I believe that this is natural in human beings. When we are already so busy taking care of ourselves, I think we forget that other people could use a hand as well. Another underlying factor may be that many of us are not raised around charity. Instead of volunteering at shelters, America’s youth is often found at sports practices or at home fidgeting with technology, and until recently, I was no different.…

Volunteering in itself, has many benefits not only to a person’s health, but to the world. There are many types of volunteering opportunities that can benefit a community. Volunteering for an environmental group locally in a community is beneficial because it can have more lasting visible effects in the area as well as can help build stronger support relationships between people with common interests. Also it impacts the people in the area more emotionally compared to national volunteering. Thank you, Angie, for the feedback. The volunteers help others without any intentions of self-gain. They wanted to serve others and aim at the betterment of the people they serve. This is the basic philosophy of servant leadership (Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership, 2016). Hence, volunteerism is an integral part of servant leadership. A servant leader, serves others, with altruism (Center for Ethics, 2010). There is no place for any personal fears or worldly obligations in any phase of serving others.…
