Sue Jozui in her passage, argues that people should reject celebrity endorsed advertisements. The author supports her claim by first stating that this kind of marketing is insulting to the intelligence of the audience. She continues by suggesting consumers should boycott this type of marketing. The author’s purpose is to persuade her readers to go against celebrity endorsed advertisements, so that advertisers will stop using celebrities to convince people to buy their product. The author uses an outraged tone for her readers. The author believes that consumers should boycott celebrity endorsed advertisements, this is illogical because buyers are not forced to buy the product, and using celebrities to advertise products is a really smart and effective way to catch a buyer's attention. …show more content…
How are small businesses supposed to grow if all the attention is on the businesses that have been here for a while and already have money. If some really pretty girl that used to star in a popular television show is in a commercial about alcohol the people are going to pay attention. No one will pay attention to some random girl on another makeup commercial because you have never seen that person before making you not really pay attention to it. On the other hand it is the consumer's responsibility to research the product they want to buy. Just seeing a famous person in an advertisement does not mean that particular product is the best. The consumer should look at a variety of products and see what one is really the best. Do not just jump to conclusion because your attention is on a person who is getting paid to promote the
