The next year, I transferred schools where Geometry Honors was not offered to eighth grade students. After talking with the superintendent of the school corporation, I was placed in the high school Geometry Honors class. This class was not easy, but it was a challenge I was ready for. Not only did I pass the class, but I did so with an A in both semesters. …show more content…
Along with being placed in Geometry Honors in the high school my eighth grade year, I was also placed in Spanish I.
This was due to the fact that, before I transferred schools, I was already enrolled in that class. I completed that class with flying colors; I ended both semesters with a perfect A+.
The advanced math and Spanish classes I have taken since then have been a direct repercussion of those classes. My first technical year of high school, I took Algebra II, Spanish II, and every honors class I could.
My sophomore year, this year, I enrolled in the AP physics class. Honestly, I only enrolled in this class rather than the chemistry class for two reasons. Firstly, my school does not offer an honors chemistry class and I thought it would not be challenging enough. Secondly, I have a huge interest in math and math related problems. Physics is like a huge application problem class.
This year I also enrolled in two English classes, English 10 Honors, and English 11 AP. I planned to graduate early in order to go to college sooner. I thought it would be wise not to take English 11 AP and English 12 AP in the same
year.
One thing I am particularly proud of is my final in English 11 AP. My teacher decided to give her classes a bona-fide AP test from a previous year as a final. She also decided to curve the test based on the highest score. Please note that I am the only sophomore in English 11 AP. I earned the highest score on the test, only missing eight. I set the curve for the final. Later, I was congratulated by my English teacher who also informed me that I was the only one to get that score. I was the only person in that class who, after the curve, scored a perfect A+ on the final.
I started my first job the summer before this school year. I believe that it is an impressive achievement to have a job while in school. Especially while being enrolled in two AP classes, one dual credit class, and one honors class. Meanwhile, earning all A’s or better in every single class.
I also joined Spanish club for the second year. This year I am a member of the Spanish executive board. We are the leaders of the club, just below the Spanish teacher. We are responsible for leading the club, planning activities, and setting the example.
