A 15 year old girl that is a passionate volunteer, philanthropist and inspirational speaker has an unfinished mission to inspire other youths to follow their dreams. Amanda Belzowski’s lemonade stand has raised over $150 000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Save A Child’s Heart and Sick Kids Hospital.
Her Beginning
In 1998, at the age of 2, Amanda and her family were on a bike ride for the Heart and Stroke Ride in Toronto. After the fundraiser, they stopped to get a drink at a lemonade stand they passed by. It was her first appearance at a fundraiser. She was so inspired by the lemonade stand, she then took the role of a volunteer. The next spring, a few months later, her first lemonade stand became reality.

At her first lemonade stand, around 50 customers came as she raised money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
She was serving cookies and lemonade although donations were appreciated. Amanda was very young at the age when she was hosting the lemonade stand and raising money for foundations. As Amanda Belzowski once said "You're never too young to help for the good of the world and also you can do something no matter what. You can help no matter what.”
Amanda’s Inspirations
Amanda’s family has a long history with heart disease as her grandfather once had an artificial heart valve as well as her grandmother who was born with congenital heart disease. When her greatest supporter passed away, her grandfather, she was inspired to raise money for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. She stated that she is doing it for him. Fortunately, Amanda’s grandmother has gone through successful heart surgery. She has a lot of trust in her five year old brother Joshua who ran Joshua’s Cookie Counters, alongside Amanda’s lemonade stand, considering the fact that she passed the title to him.

Obstacles Amanda Belzowski had to put together dozens of business proposals some of which were not convincing enough. She began pitching to companies to sponsor her at the age of six. Amanda has gotten denied by The CEO due to one of it’s companies that produced cigarettes. She has also been denied by a family member who worked for a fairly large company. Gathering sponsors and getting media attention was often a struggle for Amanda. In 2011, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the main ____ they were raising for, dropped her. They then found Save a Child’s Heart and SickKids Hospital in Toronto to raise money for.
Accomplishments Amanda Belzowski wishes to host a fundraiser concert to cater young adults, have a battle-of-the-bands and talent competition. She has assembled several high-profile sponsors, including David Copperfield, who provided four tickets to his Las Vegas show and a tour of his private warehouse nearby for the auction which has earned close to $2,000. Donald trump has also donated $200. She created and hosted her own conference for youths interested in making a powerful social change. Finally, Amanda has participated in the Legislative Page Program at Queen’s Park. She has now raised over $150 000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Save A Child’s Heart and Sick Kids Hospital.
In conclusion, Amanda Belzowski has accomplished many achievements at such a young age. Her passion will forever lead her in life as she continues to inspire youths to follow their dreams. Amanda Belzowski is truly making a difference in the world.
