For Aviva Leebow Wolmer, the second-generation CEO of Pacesetter, some of the faces she now oversees on a daily basis once knew her in a much different capacity--as a child roaming Pacesetter’s halls.
Going from child to adult isn’t too much of a stretch from the Pacesetter way the steel company is all too familiar with. Like Aviva, many of Pacesetter’s employees and clients are decades-long members of the company. In the office, she has literally torn down walls in the spirit of collaboration. Where a wall once stood separating branches of the company now stands a space that provides ample collaboration and innovation.
Certainly Pacesetter’s business is of the utmost concerns, but the community is just as important. Aviva is proud to continue Pacesetter’s longstanding commitment to giving back, which includes giving days off to employees to fulfil their altruistic endeavors. For Aviva, issues tied to her family certainly matter--such as participating with the Pacesetter Team in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk each year and contributing to crohn’s disease and colitis efforts--but she also strives to give to as many worthy causes she can. Other issues that matter deeply to her include the St. Jude's Children Hospital, the exoneration of Leo Frank and other endeavors whenever presented to her.
Today, Aviva continues to cement her status as an innovative, inspirational force in the industry while serving as a benchmark of Pacesetter’s values wherever she goes. When not in the office, Aviva, her husband Michael and dog Violet can be found hiking, hang gliding and skydiving often around their Smyrna, Georgia
