Amanda Palmer's Argumentative Essay: Crowd Funding

Crowd funding is a way to raise money for ventures by asking individuals(crowd) to contribute to one large online pool of capital(funding)
Amanda palmer did this through kickstarter a crowd funding platform that had recently opened up doors for thousands of other creators to finance their work with direct backing of their supporters.
Amanda’s kickstarter backers spent a collective of 1.2million dollars to pre order and pay for her album “Theatre is evil” making it the biggest music project in crowd funding history.

Amanda built a relationship with her fans giving her music free on line and encouraging sharing it, when she needed help and asked for it they were willing to help her.

Amanda displays humility by the very act of asking, being a star its regarded shameful to ask people for help
But Amanda believes that artists and fans are a connected community that can help each other.

we see a quality of faith, when Amanda took the courage to part from her record label and put faith in her music and believing that the connections she had made would help her band to make it if she asked for their help.
