1) By the age of 16 Lance Armstrong was already a professional athlete.

1) During the time when Lance Armstrong was diagnosed with cancer, he picked treatments that would not affect him in the long run. He still believed that he could return back to the top of the bicycling world.
2) During the time when Lance was battling cancer he did not look at it like it was a death sentence, he looked at it like it was just a minor speed bump. While doing this it showed that Lance still believed that he could return to his old life.
B- On October 2, 1996, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer that had spread to his abdomen, lungs, lymph nodes, and brain. The following day he underwent surgery to remove one of his testicles. "At that point, he had a minority chance of living another year," Craig Nichols, his principal oncologist told the New Yorker. "We cure at most a third of the people in situations like that."

While competing in a race in Spain in February 2009, Armstrong fell and broke his collarbone, an injury that would eventually require surgery. Nonetheless, Armstrong would go on to compete in the 2009 Tour de France, finishing in third place.

2) A few years after Lance Armstrong's accident he was ready to come back to his old life. Not only did he come back but he set his goals high. Even when Lance injured himself he got back on track and competed in the Tour de France.
III. Lance Armstrong had helped thousands of people during their time of need.
A- In 1997, he established the Lance Armstrong Foundation to provide practical information to people with cancer and to expand access to clinical trials of experimental therapies.

The 2002 Ride for the Roses raised $2.7 million and drew 20,000 people out of their homes to come and support this foundation.

2) The Lance Armstrong Foundation was built to help and provide information to those who are battling cancer. Not only did Lance create a foundation he created a charity bike race. The Lance Armstrong has helped thousands of people go though one of the hardest times of their life.
C- While undergoing chemotherapy, Armstrong began talking with doctors about launching a charitable foundation to raise awareness about cancer. He and some cycling friends also came up with the idea of starting a charity bicycle race around Austin, Texas, and decided to call it the Ride for the Roses. The Foundation began to give him a new feeling of
purpose.

IV. Even since childhood Lance Armstrong has been a champion.
A- At age sixteen, Armstrong became a professional triathlete. He became the national rookie of the year in spring triathlons, and both he and his mother realized that he had a serious future.

2) Only few athletes are blessed in the way Lance Armstrong is, he has been a professional athlete since that age of sixteen. This shows how dedicated Lance is to his athletic lifestyle. Not only was he a professional at the age of sixteen but he got rookie of the year.

2) Even at a young age Lance Armstrong was gifted with the ability to excel at competitive sports. Lance found the one of the few things he was good at. Not only did he find what he was good at but he also stuck with it.
C- Armstrong’s seven consecutive overall victories in the Tour is one of the most spectacular achievements in endurance athletics. Four other riders had managed five wins, but before Armstrong, none had succeeded in their attempts for a sixth consecutive win.

2) Lance Armstrong had done the impossible he had seven consecutive overall victories. No one had ever achieved seven consecutive wins. This shows what an impact Lance Armstrong has left the world of cycling.
V. Conclusion
A- Lance Armstrong should be inducted not only because of his make on the world of cycling but his outreach of people that he has helped. He has helped over 50,000 people to date, next time you have nothing to do think about what you can do to help other people.
