That extremely important phrase is one of the basic pillars of how I live my life. Without it, I don’t think I would be anywhere near as successful…
My interest in space and the space program began when I was a small child. Initially I was focused primarily on aircraft and space vehicles, especially the Saturn V rocket. My grandfather worked at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration from the day it was founded on October 1, 1958, until the space shuttle program. He retired as Chief of the Shuttle Simulation Division at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas in 1983. So I can say my discussions with my grandfather and the fascinating stories he would tell sparked my interest in the space program and my desire to pursue a career in this field. My hope is that obtaining an Aeronautical Engineering Degree at Texas A&M University will catapult me into a career in the space program.…
It is because of my parent's intense upbringings, that I have been molded into a confident individual that the younger me could only dream to become. It is because of my parent's intense upbringings, that I have reached this far in my education, surpassed so many milestones, and have continue to pursue my dreams to someday become a successful pharmacist who will continue to pass down the values my parents instilled in…
For my project life, I chose Aerospace Engineering as my future career. I have already set my path in that direction by taking Coach Cutshaw’s Pre – Engineering class at South Greene High School. I also plan on taking one of the three engineering courses at the Greene Technology Center. I would then need to get at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering at a four year college or get a degree from a Technical School with an engineering program. In High School I will have to take Physics, Chemistry, Writing/English, and several Math courses such as algebra, calculus, and trigonometry.…
In life everyone has heard words that just stick with them. The words that make you think twice about how you feel about certain situations. The words of encouragement i remember the most are from my dad. For example, The time i didn’t want to relocate to Indiana. I listened to him and i’m very happy that i did relocate.…
Many people in my life have prepared me for my future and have taught me how to handle any obstacle thrown my way. My parents have inspired me to never settle for anything but the best, and have taught me the value of hard work and perseverance. Both of my parents came from families without a strong financial basis or a stronghold of people who believed that they could excel; moreover, this led my parents to becoming doctors and providing support in every aspect for my sister and I. My parents’ determination has led to my belief in the veracious message: nothing is going to be handed to you because you must work to make something happen. As I have gotten older and realize the little time I have left sheltered by my parents, this idea has prepared me for the real world due to the fact that I know not to take anything for granted, but to work for what I want to accomplish in life.…
I have been interested in science and math since I was reading books with science experiments in second grade. Applying math and science skills to solve everyday problems has intrigued me from an early age. I am always curious about how things work. Since taking AP Physics this year, I have been able to appreciate how math and science work together. I have taken other rigorous courses, but often it felt like learning math was isolated from other coursework. Math challenges me to problem solve and think at a higher level. I also love science, but until I took AP Physics my science classes were too easy. The labs in freshmen and sophomore science were enjoyable, but I never got a sense of how they connected to other concepts in Biology and Chemistry.…
It was mostly teachers who inspired me to keep going, even though the situation at home kept getting tougher. Their words of wisdom and positive attitude towards me gave me motivation to aim for my goals. In particular, my English 2 teacher, Ms.Allbee, believed in me ever since she stepped into her new classroom. With the words of my senior AVID teacher and the compassion of Ms. Allbee, it made me realize I can be anything I wanted to be, despite of where I grew up and situations at home.…
Math and Science are two subjects which most students at any level approach with trepidation and intense dislike, however, both subjects are integral to cognitive thinking. Not only will these subjects provide skills that will help students think more clearly, but students will be academically successful throughout their school career, enjoy wider career choices and earn more money after graduation. Therefore, establishing a strong foundation in these subjects is integral to future academic and career success.…
Growing up, I had no idea what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. My whole world evolved around sports, but I knew the chances of making money playing a sport were slim. My father owns a pipeline business, and my mom owns a boutique shop so I knew I would go into a business management plan. At ten years old, my father always took me to work with him on the weekends. That was one of the best things I got; young experience is what I needed. He taught me to operate heave machinery, mix concrete, work on pipelines; moreover, he taught me what it takes to be a self-mannered, respectful employee. Since then, I knew what to do with my life and I am very lucky to have such inspirational parents to motivate me for my goal in life. I look up to them in so many ways and appreciate all they have done for my siblings and I. Hopefully, I can provide for my family like my father has for ours.…
My father was a physicist and an astronomer, as well as being an inspiration of mine. He was the reason I knew what an exoplanet was in the first place. He encouraged me to study science,…
Growing up as a kid in the 21st century, you are always being told to make something of yourself. “Never let your talent be wasted.” “Do something with your life.” These are the ideals that my dad instills in me every morning as I prepare for school. He saw the potential in me but knew that there would be obstacles that could get in my way of my future, if I did not overcome them.…
A great man named Henry Ford once remarked, “Obstacles are those frightening things you see once you take your eyes off your goals.” This is a quote that is continuously pushing me as I see life through different people's eyes. I can read someone's emotions and see what they’re seeing just by a simple glance at them. I’ve been lost many times before, not knowing what I will make of my life, but just the other day, I realized that I have so much time ahead of me and I need to make the best use of it.…
Being brought up with a humble background had a lot to do with my ambition. I understand struggle, and know the feeling of inadequacy. With the image of my parents hard work and tears stained in my peripheral vision, my finish line has always been…
"The goal is not to be successful, it is to be valuable. Once you are valuable, instead of chasing successful, it will attract itself to you." This inspiring quote has always been my motto. Life is full of difficulties and we always encounter frustration, through living, people dig out their goal in life and set up their own values. I am glad that I have been given many great chances to find my value during my school life.…
