American Cancer Society: Company Analysis
A. American Cancer Society: The first thing that catches the audience’s attention, when visiting the web page, is the picture of the family. This particular organization is a non-profit organization that must rely solely on funding from donors. The American Cancer Society uses the technique of relationship marketing. ACS uses the death rate graph to build awareness of cancer and the use of images to educate the public of the effects. Non-profit organizations must build their brand usually through a logo or motto. The ACS website has a well-known logo that can be seen at the top left of the website. The website is well designed with the logo, the message, and the need of the donor’s help. The wording on the website pursues the viewer to donate with wording such as: “JOIN THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER” and “Thanks to your generosity…”.
B. Amazon: The technique that Amazon uses is transactional marketing. The main goal that Amazon tries to achieve is to sell as many products as possible to their customers. McDonald’s logo the letter “M” made up of golden arches. The golden arch is a symbol that McDonalds has used since the early days of opening. The marketing technique that they use is both relationship and transactional. The homepage of McDonald’s website has discount deals all over it for their customers. The company pushed all their products, but while doing so they build loyalty with their customers through coupons and deals.
