A revolution was started in Russia which was the beginning of what could have been the end of the world. It started the spread of communism. Anyways, restructuring of political power in Europe and the Middle East was in order after the mass destruction brought on by the war. Not only did it result in over 37 million casualties but it also shattered people’s sense of security and stability and left everyone with a much needed distaste for war. They feared war so much that they originally did nothing about Hitler although in their defense they thought he would stop the spread of hatred and communism. On a completely unrelated note, after winning the Battle of Vimy Ridge Canada finally got some undeserved recognition. For the first time their divisions fought together and won when their mother country couldn’t even do that. After that they started referring to themselves as “forged from fire.” Anyways, America had it pretty well during the war. To put it in perspective, the British Empire suffered around 3 million casualties while America the beautiful only suffered about 300,000. Now we might as well talk about the good ‘ole U.S.A..
