Amway is an American multinational direct-selling company that uses multi-level marketing to sell a variety of products, primarily in the health, beauty, and home care markets. Amway was founded in 1959 by Jay Van Andel and Richard DeVos. Headquartered in Ada, Michigan, United States. Amway Company operates in more than 80 countries throughout the world. It is an organization with 20,000 employees and over 3 million Independent Business Owners building their own Amway business. Amway is one of the top 50 largest private companies in the world and one of the top 120 retailers. According to Direct Selling News, Amway is one of the largest direct selling companies by revenue in 2011 (2nd place). The revenue in 2011 was about $11 billion. The Amway Global website in North America has been ranked the №1 online Health & Beauty retailer for 7 consecutive years.
