On the other hand, in “Food as Thought: Resisting the Moralization of Eating,” Marry Maxfield argues about how she disagrees with Michael Pollan’s ideas of getting rid of processed food and eating more healthy food. Michael Pollan is a journalist who has written an article about how people should eat healthier food. Maxfield puts several of Pollan’s quotes in her article to show Pollan’s ideas are wrong according to her belief. She state “Pollan, for example, twice notes that our diet of processed foods makes us sick and fat, and then without evidence to support his claim” (Maxfield 444). She want the readers to know that she is going against Pollan’s ideas of eating healthy by saying Pollan does not have evidences to support his argument.

    The film, Food, Inc., argues that our food system has been corrupted by corporate interests; as a result, we are put in danger by very items that should guarantee our survival. We should reclaim our right to health by eating more locally produced organic food and ensuring all people have access to such food.     “In Defense of Food” is a book written by Michael Pollan which was released in 2008. Pollan writes about the “Western Diet” and the dangers associated with it.     Americans today are no strangers to stretching every dollar earned in an attempt to live the American dream. Most people work long hours and eat on the fly with very little thought to what, or where, the food they have purchased came from.
