Analysis Of Team Sports Lead At The Dicks Sporting Goods
The first individual in a leadership role is Brandon Starr. Brandon is the Team Sports Lead at the Dicks Sporting Goods in Cranberry Township, PA. Brandon has the responsibility of overseeing the Team Sports Department at this specific location. Found within the Team Sports Department is baseball, volleyball, softball, hockey, football, lacrosse, field hockey, basketball, soccer, and wellness (i.e. athletic tape, compression sleeves, braces, and mouthguards). Brando has the responsibility of making the Team Sports schedule and ensuring that all standards are met within the department. Brandon has direct authority over all Team Sports associates, which includes myself. Brandon is a very good manager and expresses many strong managerial traits.
As the lead, he is responsible for ensuring all tasks and objectives set by the management team are met within the department. One large managerial trait that Brandon uses is job aids sent down from upper management. The textbook defines a job aid as a set of instructions, diagrams, or similar methods

Brandon also leads by example. He is very good with customers and ensures their needs are met. He is also a very hard worker and often stays far past his shift ends to ensure the tasks are completed and the customers’ needs are met. As one of his employees, I greatly respect his work ethic and dedication to the job. Personally, I feel Brandon trusts and appreciates the work I do. He offers praise when necessary and guidance when posed with a question. I am a more experienced associate within the department and he seems to treat me more as an equal, compared to a subordinate. I really appreciate that, and I enjoy working for and with him. In conclusion, Brandon is a very good manager and is an individual I respect, who is learning on the job and
