Simon was speaking about a variety of ideas, but one of those was the idea of job satisfaction. Our generation is one that wants what we want, and we want it now. We desire a certain position in a company, and we want that position to be fulfilling. We are obsessed with immediately having this idea of job satisfaction. In reality, job satisfaction is something that must be worked for. It is not a check box to simply check. It is Mount Kilimanjaro that we must climb. It is an entire whale that we must eat. Both of these tasks are impossible without putting in the hard work and taking things one step at a time or one bite at a time. I was very thankful for the opportunity to hear Keyara speak because it was genuinely three hours before I had a phone interview, and it was helpful in providing me with some last-minute preparation. She advised me to find a quiet place where I would not be interrupted and felt free to talk through any situational questions.
