Android App for Online Ticket Reservation for Suburban Railways

ABSTRACT

One of the biggest challenges in the current ticketing facility is “QUEUE” in buying our suburban railway tickets. In this fast growing world of technology we still stand in the queue or buy with cards for the suburban tickets, which is more frustrating at times to stand in the queue or if we forget our cards. User 's ticket information is stored in a database for security purpose which is missing in the present suburban system. Also the ticket checker is provided with a checker application to search for the user 's ticket with the ticket number in the database for checking purposes. ASR ticket can be bought with just a smart phone application, where you can carry your suburban railway tickets in your smart phone as a QR (Quick Response) code. I INTRODUCTION
Waiting for railway ticket in queues is a time consuming process. In order to overcome that many new technologies have been tried to minimize the problem of suburban ticket reservation. Initially a website which introduced for online buying of tickets .But this website was only limited for long distance journey and provided no facility for suburban railway ticketing system. Then the usage of cards for ticket reservation become quite famous but it reduced some of the queue but it also becomes a problem when passengers forget their card again they have to stand in long queue to buy tickets.
Android Suburban Railway (ASR) ticketing is mainly to buy the suburban tickets which are the most challenging. Application can be installed only on smart phones. The ticket will be in the form of Quick Response (QR) Code. The checker verifies the QR code with the help of the scanner in his smart phone which contain the database of the whole railway network. The existing railway system is human dependent, time consuming when it comes to ticket booking process there are various
