Animal Testing Persuasive Speech
Imagine being isolated in a small cage and being tested on with nothing to help the pain, that’s what lab animals go through every day. We have been testing on animals since the early 1900’s, but it’s time we put down the scalpel and put away the cages. In today’s time we have the technology to test on computerized patient simulators that are more accurate than animals. Animals don’t have a choice to be experimented on, and humans need to help stop that. Animal testing should be illegal because it causes unnecessary pain, is no longer logical with technological advances and is causing ptsd as seen in humans after going to war.

Making animal testing illegal will stop the torture and unnecessary pain that’s brought to animals. According to animal rights, “The only U.S. law that governs the use of animals in laboratories—the Animal Welfare Act—allows animals to be burned, shocked, poisoned, isolated,

Now we have patient simulators that are basically non living humans. These human simulators are being used to teach emergency surgical procedures, mimic illnesses, and injuries that all come back with more positive results than animals. These “patients’ bleed, breath, convulse, die, and talk just like a real patient. The FDA states that 92% of animal tested products have failed in human trials, or had to be relabeled. If we can use these computers we can prevent less fails and be saving time as well as money. Unfortunately over half of all animal tested products have to be discontinued or replaced because of the side effects that happen in human trials. We are already testing on people so why not skip the unreliable step of animal testing and move right into human trials. There will always be someone who is the first human to be tested on, no matter how many animals we test on first. We have no excuse to be testing on animals with our technological advances and willing humans to test

I agree that animal testing isn’t just where animals are being tortured, because my experience with research has showed that, in very rare cases animals are tortured, it’s very hard for a scientist to get funding for that type of experiment, as well as all the certificates they need to make it happen in the first place.…

In regards to humans, almost every major medical breakthrough in the last 100 years has been accomplished though testing on animals. The foundation for Biomedical Research states that “… practically every present-day protocol for the prevention, treatment, cure and control of disease, pain and suffering is based on knowledge attained through research with lab animals.” (Pro-Test). These medical breakthroughs…

Right now, millions of mice, rats, rabbits, cats, dogs, and other animals are locked inside cold, barren cages in laboratories across the country. “For days they languish in pain, ache with loneliness and long to roam free and use their minds” (PETA). These animals come from a wide variety of places such as city pounds, zoos, commercial breeders, and even circuses. Did you know that around the world these animals are being used to test products ranging from shampoo to new cancer drugs? In fact almost every medical treatment that you use has been tested on animals. For instance, animals were used to develop anesthetics (AnimalPort). All they can do is sit and wait in fear of the next terrifying and painful procedure that will be performed on them. “The stress, sterility and boredom causes some animals to develop neurotic behaviors such incessantly spinning in circles, rocking back and forth and even pulling out their own hair and biting their own skin” (PETA). Believe it or not animal testing is not required by law, animal testing is only done to protect companies from consumer lawsuits (Zoomshare). Animal testing…

An estimated 26 million animals are used every year in the United States fir various types of testing. These animals are used for scientific and commercial testing to develop medical treatments, determine toxicity of medications and chemicals, check the safety of products destined for human use and other biomedical or healthcare purposes. This testing on animals is cruel, inhumane and should be banned. It should be banned because the animals are held and live in inhumane conditions, it is harmful and at times lethal to the animals and there are other research method available that do not require animal testing.…

The primary reason why animal testing should cease to exist is because it is inhumane to strip a helpless animal of its rights for the benefit of experimentation and research. "Animals have a basic moral right to respectful treatment . . .. This inherent value is not respected when animals are reduced to being mere tools in a scientific experiment.” (Lonestar) While animals cannot express themselves as humans can, they can feel, think, behave, and experience pain. Their inability to express themselves should not be taken advantage of.…

Animal testing is cruel. In conclusion, it needs to be stopped. As previously stated, we are hurting animals when there are other ways to go about it. Animals are living, breathing creatures that have rights and should be protected. They don’t deserve to be hurt anymore than we do. For example, they can feel pain, and sadness just like we can, so in what way does it make it right to harm them for our own benefit. That makes us selfish and rude. Animal testing is cruel, and mean, and needs to come to an…

Animal testing has always been a dispute between people; some people think it’s morally wrong and some people think it helps with medical and scientific breakthroughs. Drugs that people use or cosmetics that are used could have been tested through animals before being stocked on shelves. About 800 animals are tested on before a drug is passed to clinical trials (“Is animal”). Many animals get tested on, but many like mice, rabbits, hamsters, monkeys, dogs, cats, pigs, and some other animals get tested on. Animals can be used to find new advances in medical treatment and check safety for products, but these animals that get tested on can go through pain and death. Animal testing is wrong and should be stopped because…

In conclusion, it is important to know that animal testing should be banned for three reasons. It is inaccurate, cruel, and it delays the discovery of new treatments. While others argue that animal testing is beneficial, remember that animal testing is harmful to both animals and humans. If and when animal testing is banned, we will receive many benefits as well. Without animal testing, scientists…

Imagine a world where humans are taken to laboratories and tested on in a callous manner. A world where people are injected with harsh drugs and chemicals that physically and mentally harm their bodies and their life. If this scenario does not sound acceptable to act upon humans, then it surely cannot be right for animals. Right now in the world thousands of animals are experiencing this, and it most defiantly is not fair. Animal testing should be stopped because it is not only cruel, but unnecessary since there are alternative testing methods and animal rights.…

First of all, animal testing is harmful and cruel to animals. When they are not being injected or smeared with some substance, lab animals live in extremely stressful conditions. In fact, a 2009 study showed that lab monkeys experienced stress-induced psychosis - basically, they were being driven insane (neavs.org). Though the Animal Welfare Act requires a committee of scientists to…
