The Franks had to use a ration card. Which is a card used to get food and other resources, but that still was not enough for everyone. Mr.Vaan Daan did not care that they were low on materials, he was selfish and stole food. For this reason, the Van Daans only caused more complications. Almost every teenager has of had some type of complications with their mother, but Anne Frank’s situation was different. It is very hard on Anne when her mother basically demands to control everything she does and think, at the same time Mrs.Van Daan only makes the complications worse. As often as Mrs.Van Daan put her input in their family business, Ms. Frank would often agree and it would put a strain on their mother-daughter relationship. Anne had no skepticism that her mother would always treat her like a child. The Van Daans had very bad attitudes and were ungrateful. Admitting the Van Daans and Dussel in their hiding only made their chances higher of getting caught by the Nazis. They both made it a more challenging task for the Franks to do anything.
