Anne Frank: Collaboration And Complications
Anne Frank once stated, “I long to ride a bike, dance, whistle, look at the world feel young and know that I’m free, and yet I can’t let it show. Just imagine what would happen if all eight of were to feel sorry for ourselves or walk around with the discontent clearly visible on our faces, where would that get us?” Life is too short and oftentimes, like the Franks, we may want to help others; however, in the end, helping others may not help us. The Franks were dutiful in helping the Van Daans and Dussel. However, their help did not come without a price. Helping the Van Daans and Dussel cost the Franks much frustration, complications, and added fear. The Franks should have done what was needed to help themselves and let the Van Daans and

The Franks had to use a ration card. Which is a card used to get food and other resources, but that still was not enough for everyone. Mr.Vaan Daan did not care that they were low on materials, he was selfish and stole food. For this reason, the Van Daans only caused more complications. Almost every teenager has of had some type of complications with their mother, but Anne Frank’s situation was different. It is very hard on Anne when her mother basically demands to control everything she does and think, at the same time Mrs.Van Daan only makes the complications worse. As often as Mrs.Van Daan put her input in their family business, Ms. Frank would often agree and it would put a strain on their mother-daughter relationship. Anne had no skepticism that her mother would always treat her like a child. The Van Daans had very bad attitudes and were ungrateful. Admitting the Van Daans and Dussel in their hiding only made their chances higher of getting caught by the Nazis. They both made it a more challenging task for the Franks to do anything. Giving these points many people oppose, they believed that the Franks did a good deed by letting them stay and it caused them to be stronger, which I strongly disagree adding additional people made the Franks unsafe and caused many more problems in the
