Federal Governmental system. In Antifederalist Paper 84 Brutus questions the semblance of an individual governmental system as a direct violation of the rights by eliminating the individual freedoms promised in the Constitution. He defends his arguments by saying it is by nature that man will do what is in his own best interest and having one form of Government will jeopardize not only the existing but also the future generations. Putting complete control into hands of an individual government, not allowing the individual States to make decisions or govern themselves. In my opinion, Brutus was being extremely honest and fighting for the Citizens of the United States. “Besides, it is evident that the reason here assigned was not the true one, why the framers of this
Constitution omitted a bill of rights; if it had been, they would not have made certain reservations, while they totally omitted others of more importance” (Brutus, nd).
I feel that Brutus’ message is still relevant today in daily life. A great example of what Brutus was fighting so hard to defend is consistent with the battle over gun control.
