I think that humans are essentially good because of our common peaceful human nature. There are several circumstances in which we can prove that both of these sides are correct. In any culture and society, developed or undeveloped, civilized or uncivilized, there are sick and brutal crimes committed everyday, along with good acts also being done.. This includes countries that don’t even have laws, some people do evil just to do it, and some people do it unwillingly. Humans have two sides and if I had to guess, I would say that a majority are good compared to the bad, but we still have bad. What is more cowardly of an act than targeting innocent civilians? Taking your own life to take someone else’s is such a cowardly act for these terrorists. These people are another example to show that humans can be essentially bad. Just like how the kids on the island in Lord of the Flies became power hungry and began hurting and then killing each other? How can that be justified? It can’t. There is no issue large enough among children that should ever involve taking a human life. Luckily, only a select few (a miniscule percent) of our population are committing acts of terrorism.
My view point of this is that anyone who harms or takes an innocent life is essentially bad. An innocent bystander deserves their right to live life to its fullest potential. Anyone who is genuinely innocent in a situation always deserves the right to take another breathe and wake up every morning. So I feel that anyone who takes an innocent life has a minor (or severely major) mental illness because they do not know better or cannot interpret situations like a normal person.
