Many philosophers, such as John Locke and Thomas Hobbes, have discussed over the years if he human race is naturally good or evil. People than choice their side of the argument, one side believing that humans have a basically good nature that is corrupted by society, while the other side believes that humans have a bad nature that is kept in check by society. As John Locke believes that the human race is good, it is reasonable to accept as true because we are born neutral, with free will, and fear of a higher power. Humans are born neutral, no one is biases or evil from the beginning. Research has shown that young children do not tend to lean towards the bad of society. They do not know about racial indifferences, children know right from wrong. In some cases they to choice the bad side but in comparison to what people think of when they hear “evil” their actions are very much justified. do, people cannot just blame the natural evil in people for the wrong that they do in their lives. However, good or evil can depend on how someone was raised, with either good or bad morals, leading up to free will. Free will, a combinations of words that is often tossed around as an excuse to all the evil in the world.
The power of acting without the constraint of necessity or fate; the ability to act at one's own discretion is the official definition of free will. With free will, God gave us the choice to do whatever we want. With the devil tempting us, we are more inclined to choose evil over bad, but with God’s influence we choose good. Plus if humans were naturally evil everything we know about God is a lie. There are people who believe that the bible states that humans are born evil, however, it does not mentions the word evil. The bible states that humans are all born with original sin, the tendency to sin innate in all human beings, held to be inherited from Adam in consequence of the Fall. Because of free will and moral standards we choose what we know is right, deep in our hearts, human beings fear God ,therefore, it is in our nature to please
God. As human beings we need something to look forward to, someone to fear, the fear of disappointing someone of a higher power. We might not all be Christian but we are all human, who come from the same place and are destined for an afterlife. It is in human nature to want to please people, some are more daring and desperate then others. People have common sense, which leads them to making either good or bad choices. Common sense, moral standards, free will all mixed with the fear of God makes good people. As Thomas Locke said, “All mankind... being all equal and independent, no one ought to harm another in his life, health, liberty or possessions” says that we are all equal giving us no room for the evil in people. All people are naturally good. No one is raciest, bias, or evil, we are born neutral, and whether we choose to do good or evil is up to our environment as well as our upbringing.
