In grade 6 I went to a great school called David Leeder Middle School. Even though none of my friends from grade 5 were in my class, I had an amazing year. All of my teachers were fabulous except for one. My math and science teacher was the worst teacher I had ever had. I remember that she would always yell at us for asking her questions about our work. In grade 7, I was also in David Leeder, but this was the best year I had ever had in my life. Every single teacher of mine were very good and they taught everything very thoroughly. Also, I made a lot of friends during this year. Academically I had the best year and I took part in extra curriculars such as soccer and volleyball. During these two years I went to Pakistan, I went to New York…

When I got to the age I could start school, I was excited. I started school like any other kids my age did. Kindergarten through first grade were fun for me. Second grade came and that is when things started happening that I did not like, and third grade I absolutely hated. I was being bullied and was ignored by teachers. I was viewed differently just because that school thought I should have been in special ed. They got their way for a little while, by having my parents sign some papers that would provide some extra help, but the contract never said I would be in special ed. My parents were absolutely furious when they found out I was in special ed when they did not give permission to the school to put me in there. So came the time to move. I started attending Udall Schools in fourth grade. I was welcomed by a class that was eager to know me and teachers willing to help. My teachers helped me learn the concepts I missed from the previous school.…

School is a place where I’m supposed to learn about how to deal with life outside of school, but in reality a lot of what I learn is no use to me in real life. I’ll never have to graph a polynomial function outside of algebra class, and I’ll never have to explain to someone how to figure out the count of valence electrons in Oxygen. Outside of school, however, I do learn about things useful to me. Like how to communicate with others, or how I can survive on my own without having to be dependent on someone else. School has ceased to be about learning, now it’s all about memorizing material for a test and…

“I want to see the beauty. In the ugly, in the sink, the suffering, in the daily, in all the days before I die, the moments before I sleep.” (goodreads.com) High school is expressed as the best of times, but also as the worst of times. Regardless of whether we desire to or not, it is a part of our lives we will remember forever. It is when we start to figure out who we are, and decide the life we want to live. While we go through this significant phase of our life, it is essential that we appreciate it to the best of our ability by focusing on living in the moment, taking the time to enjoy ourselves and helping others enjoy themselves too.…

I stand before you today to argue that schoolies does deserve the bad reputation it has been given. To some people, schoolies week is seen as a week during the year where you can take the time to relax, to un wind and to just feel the weight being lifted off your shoulders after exams but to others, it is seen as a dangerous environment where nothing is achieved and numerous amount of brain cells die in the process of this vigorous celebration.…

Our first stop was at kindergarten, where we thought school was just a place your parents dropped you off to get you out of their hair; which, I still believe. We weren’t informed that every year the school work got harder, that there where no more letters to color in, or numbers you could count on our fingers, or even that some of the teachers got meaner, but through all of that we came along the best nail in the track, which is best friends.…

Yea those dreaded 8 hours that cause for me to have to wake up at six every morning five mornings in a row, with teachers who seem to make it their goal to make me have an aneurism with all the stress of papers, test, exams and grades. The expectations are killer and will probably be the death of me. While school seems to be one of the main reasons why I am always tired and confused. It has given me an amazing experience, I have been given the opportunity to meet super cool people, learn some interesting things and prepare for life outside of a sheltered 8-3:15 life style. It’s given me the essential teachings to learn that yea life isn’t easy and that different people have different expectations from me. All of my comfort zones have been tested and pushed and for that I am thankful because without the constant struggle of trying to stay on top of everything. Have you ever wondered what the point of school is? I like school because you learn new things, make friends, and learn how to behave properly. To start, I like learning new things because it can help you get the job you want. Next, school can help you make new friends because you see them almost everyday. Along with that, the extra curricular programs can assist you in meeting new friends who have the same interests and hobbies as you. Finally, behaving well as an adult is important. In school, you learn how to act around different situations. If you make a behavioral mistake while in school, you will be told it is wrong and may be punished. If you don’t act accordingly as an adult, you can lose your job, be fined, or get…
