such as previous scientific information that can aid quality of human life on earth, this information helps educate and form amazing television programmes, this information can spark inspiration in the mind of youngsters. The children of today are the adults of tomorrow and these adults will decide our (man kind’s) fate, these sparks of inspiration lead by brilliant scientific research in space that helped form informative television programmes such as discovery channels “when we left earth”, celebration the fortieth anniversary of the first Apollo mission lead by NASA. There are also thousands of incredible books available to the public all over the world. This intelligent generation will increase quality of life around the world by allowing people to make more money and improve infrastructure via this new knowledge. Discoveries from space exploration programs can be found in our everyday lives, and over 2 billion people use a product of the space exploration per day, examples of these inventions being the following: calculators, cell phones, digital wristwatches, GPS finders, infrared cameras, laser surgery, materials used in running shoes, pace maker batteries, personal computers, satellite TV, Teflon, ultrasound, Velcro and water-purification systems.
These inventions increase standard / ease of living throughout the world. One might think they could live without things like pace maker batteries, but firstly there were over 3,000,000 by 2012; And what about all of the rest of the things on the list? Could you live without your mobile phone and computer? Your calculator? In the coming years space exploration is expected to create even more technologies and products for example advances in health care and solar power, even robotics will be improved as a result of space exploration. There are also almost definitely undiscovered elements in space that could aid the acceleration of human quality of life and infrastructure on earth, alongside the rare and expensive metals available on other planets and meteors, people could argue that elements on meteors is impossible to harness however two weeks ago in October/November 2014 a shuttle did land on a travelling meteor, this would obviously not have taken place if we had not explored space …show more content…
previously. Humans are known to have excelled upon new experiences, and space exploration can quench humanities thirst for knowledge however due to our actions on earth, space exploration may prove more vital for the existence of mankind than previously thought. Many scientists such as Steven Hawking have urged space explorations vitality, stating in his books such as “Starmus” that humans could end the world as we know it, either by pollution over a predicted 150 year period or in other ways like stated in his book “Starmus” via the Higgs Boson, or God particle. The Cambridge-educated cosmologist urged upon the instability of the sub-atomic particle stating that the earth could undergo “catastrophic vacuum decay” and this could have extremely destructive consequences, “this could happen at any time and we wouldn’t see it coming”. There are other ways where the earth is under imminent danger and space exploration could solve this via the discovery of other planets that could harness life like earth does, there are examples of this in our own atmosphere, for example Venus is proved to be leaking elements vital for the existence of human life like oxygen and hydrogen, having found examples of inhospitable planets that could have been hospitable in the past like Venus, due to the pure abundance of planets throughout the universe, it is very possible that there could be hospitable planets that could harness mankind, this could prove vital due to threats of things like rising sea levels due to global warming and even things like giant solar flares which cannot be shielded by the magnetic field of the earth, Steven hawking stated that we could only have “150 years left” before the world becomes inhospitable to handle the currently exponential population which is still increasing at a logarithmic rate.
Many other people however do not see the vitality of space exploration as a necessary benefactor to the existence of humans on earth, stating that “NASA spends 19 Billion” of US taxes per year.
And that the things we are creating for space exploration are just nebulously floating away into the oblivion that is space, never to be seen again. And that exploring space in unnecessary and we have “bigger fish to fry”. These people also say that With the money spent on traveling to space we could have worked on fixing starvation and poverty on our own earth, and many other problems and current anomalies on earth, often including the statistic that we know less about our ocean floors than about space, scientists state that we only know about fiver percent of what is in our oceans and seas which covers 69 percent of the world. 1 Billion people worldwide go suffering of chronic hunger every day and this problem poses more of an issue than the exploration of our solar system, these problems on earth must be solved before billions more US dollars are being spent on space exploration as this problem is affecting almost a third of our world it is necessary to solve these issues
first.
To state that the things created as a result of space exploration just simply nebulously float away into space is an ignorant point of view as it creats new technologies and products space exploration is simply too big of a benefactor to humans, as predicted and as already represented by inventions in the past, and too much of an anomaly to be ignored. However there are hundreds of issues on earth that could be seen as posing more of a threat to human existence, like world poverty, to state that chronic hunger which affects over a seventh of the world population everyday is being overlooked would be an ignorant thing to say as it is not as if humans are simply ignoring the issues on earth as billions of US dollars goes towards helping the less fortunate in our own world, o I think ore could be done? Yes. But to say that it is ignored is an invalid statement as it isn’t. Space exploration also effects billions of people worldwide everyday and even small examples like the Hubble telescope has reshaped what we knew since its launch, and with the advances in technology, space exploration will lead to even greater discoveries and inventions. Therefore , Keep exploring!
