Colonize Mars Essay

Dr. Stephen Petranek said, ”Some of the greatest advantages in civilization and technology, came because we explored.” Humans should not colonize Mars. If humans colonized Mars, humans would barely be able to survive. Mars lacks two very crucial products to survive, food and oxygen. Humans of the future would not benefit with colonizing Mars because humans who go to Mars, will have a risky voyage, there is not oxygen, and it will cost a lot of money to arrive on Mars.
The voyage to Mars is very risky, who knows what could happen. This mission could be like the Challenger Space Shuttle of January, 1986. This mission was highly prepared for just similar to the Mission to Mars coming in 2040. This mission would have made history by becoming the first space mission that had a teacher on board. Her name was Christa McAuliffe. The reason why she was on this mission was because she won a challenge everybody signed up for to be part of the mission. NASA does not have the money for the mission yet, but that does not mean that NASA will not have the money in 2040. NASA receives a lot of money each year, but money does not grow on trees. Mars does not have food. NASA has been preparing to ship food to the Mars One astronauts during their mission. That may hold up the mission to Mars even when this mission is already taking up a bit of time.
