It can happen during the childhood ages to an elderly. According to the World Health Organization more than 350 million people suffer from depression worldwide (Qing). That being said, there is about 7.5 billion people living in the world right now and from that, 350 million people have some sort of depression occurring in their lives. In the United States, depression affects about 2.5% of children and 8% of adolescents (Weir). Many of those who suffer from depression tend to rely on antidepressants.
