In college baseball today the players are becoming so strong because of the weight lifting plans, constant conditioning, and the use of drugs to enhance their performance. The baseballs are being wound tighter and the quality of pitching has declined over the years. It is becoming a major concern for college players because they hit the ball so hard with metal bats. It is just a matter of time until someone gets hit and either seriously injures or even kills them if it hits them in the wrong place.…
Steve Harmon is a 16 year old African American boy. He is being accused of being the lookout for a robbery that went wrong and resulted in the murder of Alguinaldo Nesbit, the owner of the establishment that was robbed. Bobo Evans and James King, the perpetrators of the crime, testified that Steve was the lookout and that he wanted in on the robbery. Steve was seen walking away from the store before the robbery took place. He then lied about being in the store and being the lookout for Bobo and James. Furthermore, he is trying to convince himself through the entire trial that he is innocent. He is found innocent by the jury, but the reader should see he is guilty because of his actions.…
To kill or not to kill is the current debate over vampire bats. Firstly, Vampire bats attack the cattle we need. For example, Chris Kraul, Journalist for Los Angeles Times shares, that a cattleman woke up one morning to find bite marks on his cattle, along with 10 of his calves with anemia (Kraul). Thus, by killing the vampire bats, we can prevent the attacks on the cattle. Secondly, scientists claim we should not kill the bats. For instance, Chris Kraul reports, scientists believe by saving the vampire bats it could lead to solving AIDS or even cancer. Thirdly, I believe vampire bats should be killed. To illustrate, Chris Kraul shares, Oliva talks about how many vampire once swarmed a herd of cattle. Therefore, by harming…
How would you feel if you were a special animal that was bought or raised to be hunted and killed where you’re not supposed to be? Exotic animals are often bought from zoos and/or raised to be hunted or killed in the Texas ranches. Not only is that cruel but the animals are also caged in during the hunt, as well as the hunting lasting year around due to there being no “closed season”.…
Pit bulls are being banned worldwide because they are being raised with irresponsible owners and are being trained to be vicious, causing pit bulls to terrorize communities, and attack people and dogs causing the highest mortality rate of all dog breed attacks. The way communities, cities, states, and countries are handling this, is with breed-specific legislation. Pit bull breeds are being banned which does not only target pit pets who are trained to be vicious but pit’s that are good pets as well. I believe this does absolutely nothing to control the terror that vicious dogs are bringing to neighborhoods, because instead of the trainer being the one to blame, the animal doing what they are trained to do is being targeted against. Just because pit bull breeds are the main breed that trainers; who want a vicious, obedient, attacking fight dog favor during these times, does not mean the specific breed is vicious. The ban on pit bulls will just cause irresponsible trainers to find a new dog breed to train the same way. There are many things to take into account before breed-specific legislation should be used in communities, including facts about the…
What I'm writing over is should animal testing be allowed. What my opinion is that we should not have animal testing. All the make-up you see our products are used on animals before when even use them. Did you know that they don’t test on humans because that would be bad if they did because those humans might die. That's why we shouldn't test on animals because they die too and there human nature and the world change by killing or testing them.…
For many years, the debate of whether animals have moral rights or not has been thrown around court rooms, social media, and protests. Arguments are made defending animals and suggesting that they should be protected and recognized in human society. Medical researchers are scrutinized and harassed by these supporters for their part in animal testing and medical investigation. Scientific breakthroughs have been made, which has transformed the development of modern medicine. Lifespans have elongated and lives are being saved in every corner of the world, yet somehow, this is still debated as if it is the wrong thing to do. Research animals are pertinent tools of the medical world and humans are entitled to use them as such. As human beings with…
Animal testing is good because of the vaccines it provides but its wrong becasue the pain we cause to innocent animals.…
`”God loved the birds and invented trees. Man loved the birds and invented cages” (Deval, Jacques). There are many things wrong about animal research, and I think that a lot of it is wrong. Animal testing is wrong because it harms animals, animals’ rights are violated in tests, it is expensive, there are better alternatives, and the results of these tests aren’t always accurate or reliable.…
All of my life I have had a tremendous amount of passion for all animals, and in most instances I've found that I have felt more comfortable around them than I do people, finding myself drawn to their many personable qualities, such as innocence, loyalty, lack of judgment, and overall cheerful disposition. As I have grown, my care for animals and their well being has as well, and my eyes have been opened to the horrors taking place all throughout the globe involving poor, innocent animals, who are unable to defend themselves, against the very people they are meant to find companionship with. The controversy over the practice of utilizing animals for the purposes of testing has been an issue for the past 30-40 years, and with it, comes the moral debate. However, the topic of ongoing question, whether animal testing is right or wrong, lies within your own personal morals.…
Animals from creation have been an essential integral part of human beings. They have frequently been, either directly or indirectly, used by humans to achieve their needs. Hence they are important part and great asset to humans. These animals do have lives different from that of humans and equally have some similar characteristics with humans like emotional feelings. This very fact puts humans in a difficult position of determining the amount of respect and regard that should be accorded to the animals. Some people agitate that animals should be granted same equal rights as human beings. Inasmuch as I quite agree that animals should be granted some rights in order to be free from cruel treatments by humans, the issue of granting them equal full rights as enjoyed by humans should not come up. An objective review of such factors as tradition, cultural believes, religious, socio-economic, and medical as well as salient natural features that distinguish animals from humans like morality, and ability to…
Should animals have rights? A lot of people would say no because humans are the top 10% of the food chain,so does this give us the right to take away animal rights? The answer is yes , imagine a society where humans, who are superior to animals, have to abide to the same rules as an animal. Animals should not have a bill of rights because God gave humans superiority over other animals, Animals don't respect our rights, If animals have rights, then so do vegetables, and humans and animals differ greatly.…
In a world where vampires and zombies exist, human instinct alone will not save us from obliteration. These creatures and humans do not have a middle ground; reasoning will not help at all. Even though they are more superior than humans, knowing their diet, appearance, and weakness will increase our chance of survival.…
To an outsider zoo's can appear to be various environments, harsh or beneficial, for example, but is there more than meets the eye? Many zoos will use conservation as a buzzword because it will catch attention and draw you to believe things as said in Rob Laidlaw’s, “Zoos Myth and Reality.” On the contrary, Michael Hutchins, author of “Zoos Connect us to the Real World, states there is much coverage of the positive nurturing of zoos. Overall, today zoos are more educated and take utmost care of their animals, plus 90% of accredited mammals were born in zoos, and now zoos are really striving to improve the lives of their animals.…
Everybody loves going to the circus. How cool is it to see the ravenous tiger jump through a hoop of fire, the little monkey juggle, or see puppies do all kinds of tricks? People enjoy good entertainment, especially when it comes to animals being involved. Not only can they be used for satisfying the public, but they can also be useful to human resources, such as to the blind, deaf, or disabled. If animals can be used properly in positive ways then why are we abusing and neglecting them? Animals deserve to have the same rights as humans.…
