Everybody loves going to the circus. How cool is it to see the ravenous tiger jump through a hoop of fire, the little monkey juggle, or see puppies do all kinds of tricks? People enjoy good entertainment, especially when it comes to animals being involved. Not only can they be used for satisfying the public, but they can also be useful to human resources, such as to the blind, deaf, or disabled. If animals can be used properly in positive ways then why are we abusing and neglecting them? Animals deserve to have the same rights as humans. One way animals are taken advantage of is by experimentation. Many different experiments are done all over the world that use animals as victims in scientists’ research. "Morphine calms people but excites cats, goats, and horses" (O’Neill, pg 49). It provided for veterinary care, facility inspections, and specific standards of treatment" (O’Neill, pg 12). This act was passed to help small animals get out of having to be researched and experimented on for human life that way they didn't have to suffer in any laboratories. If the labs provided a safe environment for the animals already, then why would people be fighting to pass acts supporting animal rights? "A therapeutic dose of aspirin in a human is a poison to cats, has no effect on fever in horses, and causes birth defects in rats, cats, dogs, guinea pigs, and monkeys, yet is considered safe for pregnant women" (O’Neill, pg 48). Medicine can be tested and used on people without hurting the humans because this type of medicine only hurts animals and fails to prove if it's healthy for humans to take or not based on the research that was
