Animals feel pain and should be respected. “The right to be treated with respect does not depend on an ability to reason.” This statement is taught from the beginnings of childhood throughout the lifetime and accepted worldwide. Courtesy, kindness, and respect are lifelong principles; these principles are eternal truths and in accordance with the golden rule; treat others how you would like to be treated. The golden rule is as its name would propose. A single rule that applies no matter the race, religion, or ethnicity. If an individual wants to be respected, he or she needs to respect others. The same respect shown for human needs to shown to animals while remembering human lives are more important than an animal life. After all, without animal testing, human lives would be at risk. All humans would agree that animal testing is a necessary step of developing a new material or product. Without animal testing, humans could develop the symptoms that the animals should be receiving instead of humans. These may include: a rash, allergic reaction, cell damage, or even brain damage, and some products have the possibility of leading to death.
