The painting was done in 1533 during The Renaissance Period during which artists starting painting more than just religious scenes and started painting a wide range of subjects including portraits, which is seen here. The Linear perspective is achieved very well even in a very close-up painting. The subjects really appear life-like. The incredible detail helps the painting come to life as well. The Linear perspective used for the rug on the floor is done exceptionally well and along with the objects on the table, you would really feel like you were right there in the room with the two men if you were to stand in front of the work. The inclusion of the Anamorphic skull privides an entirely different kind of depth as well, it seems out of place when you first look at the painting, but it also gives you a reason to take a longer look at the painting and provides almost a two-in-one for “ The
