Ashlynn Conner: The Cause Of Child Suicide
Ashlynn Conner, a 10-year-old girl who had been battling depression, was recently found hanging from a clothing rod by her sister. The young girl had come home from school the day before in tears asking to be taken out because of bullying. Her parents had planned to go in to the school and speak with the principal, but Ashlynn decided that the depression was too much for her to take. Although she likely felt alone in her fight, statistics of reported child suicides in America show that she was not. Hundreds of children under 14 across the United States have acted on suicidal urges.
