In college you will learn responsibilities and how to take care of yourself. My life have change dramatically, went from seeing my family everyday to seeing them every three weeks maybe. My neighbor was a couple of years older than me, so by the time she had been attending college she would infuse me with her experiences. Lucky for me, she was able to provide with wise advice that ultimately helped me come to where I am now. My friend/neighbor struggled during college, but she always held her head high and even after the obstacles she was able to overcome them and find a job that suited what she wanted. One of the many lessons I learned from her was that there are a myriad possibilities to the kind of job you might land, but when you earn a degree the opportunities are maximized, and we should always keep mindful of that. Society has posed college as either the road to success or a road that leads to a vast place of failure, however, I disagree with the statement that it can lead to failure merely because even after graduation the graduate has acquired knowledge and experience. The ability to have acquired so much knowledge not only from the professors but also from the classmates helps shape the mentality of the…
Society tends to believe that attending to college is something that everyone should do in order to live a successful and prosperous life. After doing research about the benefits of college, read different perspectives and opinions of different authors my view about college has changed. A lot of kids think that in order to get accepted into college you need to have perfect test scores and an exceptional gpa but that’s not true. Angel B. Perez in the article, Want to Get Into College? Learn to Fail, asserts that college admission officers want to get to know the student applying outside of his/her academic history. That means that if you are eager to learn you can get into college and by attending to college you are going to expand your mind, gain more knowledge and be a successful person.…
College can provide young adults with a chance to grow both mentally and behaviorally. Though most kids going to a four-year college are not completely self-reliant, typically living off their parent’s money, it is a time for independence and freedom. It is a chance for young adults to explore a broad range of topics that their high school could never give them. Times may be tough, but it’s times like these when the public must remember why it’s so important to get a good education. It’s a way to better our selves so that we can better our country.…
Another benefit of college is you’ll learn to adapt to new situations. For example, I’ve had to adjust my TV time to now study time because of the new college life I’m striving for. Sometimes in life, to get to a place you want to be, you have to make…

Being a college student can be difficult. High school teachers try to prepare the students before they begin college. Some people go to college for the title for being a college student for others it’s a way to leave home and become independent without completely losing the financial help of their parents. Most go because they have to, not because they want to. High school students are constantly being pressured not only by family members but also by guidance counselors to go to college because it’s the “right thing to do.” We all have an idea of what we want in life, but we end up doing the opposite and doing what our “mentors” think is best for us, resulting in being miserable.…

College is a very difficult decision in many people's lives around the world. The stories of Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs show that sometimes college would not be the best idea for some people. Even my father, who dropped out of college, is very successful and supports his family wealthily, while not having to do as much work as most people. However, these successful people went through difficult times and failed much in life, before becoming who they are now. While many people believe college is not worth it, it really is, because college is a pathway for many people into a great career, while also allowing graduates the gain of knowledge from the experience.…
College is one of the periods of life where there is most growth, both personally and academically. Going to college is a very challenging yet rewarding experience. It brings people out of their comfort zones personally, whereas academically, people get to focus more on what they are good at. In my case, it will be a challenge to adapt to the college environment at the same time that it will be very comfortable to finally study subjects that truly interest me. This exciting challenge is the main reason I want to go to college. Most people want to go to college to get a degree and earn a lot of money, which leads them to more expensive and selective colleges. I, on the other hand, intend to focus more on the course and the subjects I will study.…
Being successful in life does not just happen. College is something that will help one become successful in life. Going to college will be a life changing experience for anyone. One will get the experience of living independently. College will also give someone the opportunity to pursue something that they love and have a passion for. When I was a child being an adult meant going to work everyday, not being afraid to kill spiders, and being able to drive a real car. As a teenager being an adult meant setting the unnecessary curfew rules and being the one who can easily lend out money. But being an adult is so much more than that. Responsibility comes with maturity. How many responsible seventeen year olds have you met in your life? Being an adult means being able to make life decisions. No teenager is ready to make life decisions. Going to college is the hardest thing we have ever yet to attempt. The experiences I have lived through have helped shape my path and have gotten me ready to take the leap into college. The tiny moments that seemed almost silly at the time helped me grow into the strong determined person I am today.…
