Baking Soda and Vinegar Rocket
Baking Soda and Vinegar Rocket All the materials you will need are very simple house hold; scissors, balloon, vinegar, baking soda, rubber band, empty bottle, clear wrap, straight pin, marker, thin piece of wood, drinking straws, and duct tape. One of the first steps is to make the rocket fuel the key component in this rocket. I began with placing ¼ or 1/3 of vinegar in a normal size bottle, after that you will make the baking soda bomb. You take a piece of clear wrap and place a good amount of baking soda in a square piece wrap up all the corners and wrap it up tight so it won’t come undone on accident, place it to the side for later use. You also need to a balloon and marker and straight pin for the next part. You will take the balloon and cut off a part where it will fit over the mouth of the bottle easily. Then take your marker and mark a spot where it is directly in the middle of the top and then use your straight pin and poke a hole in the top. Once this is all prepared lay the balloon and a rubber band over to the side separately. Once everything is ready you need to build a launcher, you can use a thin piece of wood lay on the ground at a 45 degree angle. You should attach a drinking straw on to the bottle to hold it in to place on the wood. After all is in place put the Baking soda bomb in to the bottle of vinegar and quickly put the balloon and rubber band on the bottle. Then place it on the piece of wood, you will only have a few seconds to do this entire thing so act fast. When you do this project you will need to be very careful and work fast because if you don’t watch out it will go off in your hands or worse your face. Be careful to follow it all very closely or it all could go

The rocket I produced was a normal looking rocket compared to the group of rockets I was working with. It was medium size in length and thickness. The head of the rocket was a little wide and lose, and the flaps were not arrow dynamic what so ever. To improve the flight I could have made my rocket shorter and thinner because the smaller the mass the greater acceleration. Doing this would improve the acceleration of the projectile in this case the rocket. Also to improve the acceleration I could add more alka-seltzer to the film case. Doing this would add a greater force to push off of which would make the rocket go higher and faster. Lastly I could have made the structure for the rocket more aerodynamic. To do this I would make the flaps triangles that do not stick out. Doing that will let…

What I learned about bottle rockets is the smaller the bottles, the higher the rocket goes. The rocket has to have water on the bottom for it to fly. What I did for my rocket is I got two 2 liter bottles. I cut part of the bottom off one of the bottles and taped them together. But, you have to make sure it’s not sideways. If the bottles are taped on sideways if won’t fly straight. Then, I cut out four fins and glued them on the bottom of the rocket. With the fins there is a better chance it with fly higher. Next, I cut out five strings for the parachute. We put a parachute on it so that when it comes down the parachute will slow it down for it not to hit the ground hard. For the parachute I got a plastic bag and taped the strings to it…

    Egg Car Essay Example

    * To construct my project, I first began building the protection chamber for the egg. I glued 4 or 5 sections of paper together to make it sturdy and safe. I made a flap that tucked in so that the egg could not fall out. I then glued more paper together in the shape of a box. There was a base and a lid, sort of like a Christmas present. I put straws around the metal of the axle and glued them onto 4 pieces of straws glued to together. All that was left after that was to glue the box onto the straws connecting the wheels. I then filled it with some scraps of paper so the protection chamber could not move around.…

    Bottle Rockets

Bottle rockets, people see them as middle school science projects where kids have fun and build little rockets. Actually there is a lot behind bottle rockets, it’s more than just throw some plastic bottle together and glue some wings to it and fly it. The researcher chose this topic because in his class they are doing the bottle rocket project and he wanted to find out which rocket was more efficient for hang time. So the experimenter built some rockets and launched them and gathered the results. In this paper there is some history of rocketry which the researcher used to design his rockets. The results are also contained in this paper; they show how different dimensions of water rockets affect its hang time. The way the researcher built the rockets was fairly simple he first used a 2-liter bottle as the base, then he cut another bottle in half and taped it to the bottom of the base bottle, after he attached a plastic cup to the half bottle, and finally he taped the top half of a small Coke bottle. After launching and gathering his data he came to the conclusion that his hypothesis was right long rockets with medium size fins preformed the best and had and average hang time of 7.16 sec. Other rockets performed well but they did not have the greatest hang time of all the launches. The conditions were equal for all rockets so the hang time was not affected by other variables.…

    Sodalite: A Short Story

    • 815 Words
    • 4 Pages

Sodalite walked slowly through the stream in the forest, pumping her legs through the cold, yet somehow warm water. The current of the stream wasnt very rough, so it was (sort of) easy to trudge through the crystal clear water. Sodalite sighed, reminiscing on how she came to Earth. She wasnt from this planet, for she was actually from homeworld. She was to be shattered because she was ‘wrong’; but it wasnt even her fault. Soda was blind in her left eye due to her lazy kindergarteners. They placed her hole near a sharp, jagged rock that even the kindergarteners knew that it would compromise the gems’ growth. But they placed the injector there anyway, and now she was stuck like this. Soda cracked her fingers and looked at the position of the…
