Basketball Scholarship Appeal

I am definitely the best player that you, John Calipari can take to play on your basketball team this upcoming season. Three reason why I think I am best fit to play for your team is my work ethic is unbelievable, my grades have improved a lot, and I am very skilled and believe I can compete with anyone in the nation. These are the things one needs to succeed in the NCAA. I am always able to motivate myself when I make a mistake or if I’m going through a slump, not many players can do that. My grades may have been poor throughout high school but I have improved my marks drastically. I think that I can compete with any player at the college level. I might be from Canada, but my heart and skill outweighs that of any basketball player you may select. I will work as hard as a full time labourer. These are the reasons why I think I am the best fit for your team.
If there is one thing that I would say is the most important part about being great, it’s perseverance.
“I’ve failed over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed”. This is a quote by Michael Jordan, the best basketball player in NBA history. I look up to Michael Jordan and I know that he never even thought about quitting in life, so no matter how much I fail I will never quit. I am known for how much love and passion I have for basketball. My love for the game is equal to romeo’s love for juliet, it is to die for. I am always first to practice, I put in hours in the gym every day. Whenever I get a little lazy I wash my face, get my head straight, and continue to grind.I am always motivated, if you let me play for you I will not only motivate myself, but I will motivate the rest of my team as
well.

One has to get good grades to get a scholarship to a division one school like Kentucky, not every athlete knows that. . I understand that the diploma prominent to the basketball. If you accept my request to come to your school, I will maintain a 3.5 GPA throughout my time in your school. I will also volunteer any of my extra time to help some of my teammates out if they are falling behind in their classes, this way everyone on the team will be successful. I won’t only be helping myself, but will also be helping the team.

Even if a person has amazing grades and is incredibly motivated it won’t help much if a they aren’t able to compete at the NCAA basketball level. I have been looked down upon as a Canadian basketball player. I have been dismissed by many teams, and have shed so many tears. After many coaches turned me down I was sad, I was mad, I was infuriated. But now I know that I am going to be able to compete at the level of every other player on your team. If by any chance I don’t compete at that level, I will not be offended if you let me go. I will work hard, eat healthy, and bring a championship back to Kentucky. All I am asking for is a chance.

As you can see from the points that I have stated, I am a very capable of handling myself on your team. I am self motivated, well educated, and able to handle myself on the basketball court. These are all the qualities needed to play for your team. I will motivate this team, I will educate this team, and most importantly I will lead this team.
